Just to update on Alec’s earlier post, today’s Maroon has more details on the shooting, including the Administration’s response to it. The University is tightening security by adding more bicycle patrols, expanding late-night van service, and, over time, doubling the police presence between midnight and 8 a.m.
Today’s unsigned editorial, meanwhile, argues that the administration’s immediate response is to be commended, but there are nonetheless serious security issues that must be address.
There’s also an obituary for the victim, Amadou Cisse. He had successfully defended his dissertation three weeks ago, and was only three weeks away from receiving his Ph.D. Just awful.
