Kenwood Academy Students Protest Gun Violence on National Walkout Day

On Friday afternoon, students walked out of their high school to advocate for gun reform on the 19th anniversary of the Columbine shooting.

A march at the University of Chicago on Friday, April 20 was organized by GoodKidsMadCity, a new collective calling for an end to gun violence through a comprehensive program that addresses youth unemployment, mental health services, and improved school resources.

Hundreds of students marched from Kenwood Academy to UChicago Medicine, where they shared their testimonies and demanded  increased investment in communities affected by gun violence.
