Last Saturday, the Chinese Undergraduate Student Association (CUSA) presented a modern retelling of “The Butterfly Lovers,” a ancient Chinese legend set in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Written and directed by second-year Iris Huang, “The Butterfly Lovers” incorporated time travel—a popular theme in modern Chinese TV shows—alongside contemporary and classical dance into the play.
