Crime Report 1-27-2006

A burglary with forcible entry occurred on January 22, between 8 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Cornell Avenue. According to police reports, an undetermined number of suspects entered an apartment after breaking in through the front door. Residents reported several items missing, including jewelry, clothing, a DVD player, several DVDs, and a large suitcase.

An attempted robbery and forcible entry occurred between 6 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. on January 25, in the 4900 block of South Drexel Avenue. A male resident reported returning to his residence in the evening, when he discovered pry marks on the door and door lock. Although damage at the scene suggests that the door frame also appeared to have been kicked, no entry was made into that residence, according to police reports.

An attempted robbery and forcible entry reportedly occurred between 8:30 a.m. on January 25 and 4:55 a.m. on January 26, in the 800 block of East 49th Street. A female resident reported returning to her residence and finding damage to the rear door lock and rear window. Police determined that no entry was made.
