Giuliani’s first hiccup may be a big one

Despite an awesome nickname

Despite an awesome nickname, Rudy Giuliani isn’t loving that fact that his incredibly ambitious campaign plans were leaked to the press. In my view, this is one of the more damaging things that can happen early on in a campaign (almost, but not as bad as a macaca). It shows big plans but an inability to even begin to execute them, the first step being to keep a lid on private meetings. It also probably doesn’t do great things for fundraising for targets to know that they are in fact targets before much of the planning has even been done. It’s flattering to be approached, but probably less so when your name on a private-made-public list with dollar amounts scribbled next to it. Let’s see how much damage this does.UPDATE: Freakonomics has more.
