…that is, anybody who creates and uses content on the internet: digital democracy. I was a bit skeptical at first. But after a some thought, I think this is a fantastic decision, and not just because I’m a participant in and consumer of the blogosphere. The role that individuals have played in the creation and exchange of ideas has been staggering. Blogs and bloggers have influenced national politics and elections. Wikipedia has changed the way casual, non-primary source research is accomplished but it has also started to influence high-level academic research (there is now a spy version of Wikipedia, Intellipedia, meant to provide members of the U.S. intelligence community a collaborative tool for creating and editing intelligence material).
