Felony battery to a senior citizen, January 7, 11:00 a.m.

A 75-year-old Hyde Parker suffered major trauma after he was severely beaten by a homeless man.

January 7, 11:00 a.m. — A 75-year-old Hyde Parker was severely beaten on the 5400 block of Hyde Park Boulevard by a homeless man. The victim is currently being treated for “major trauma,” according to police. Lorenzo Perkins, 36, entered a U of C police station on the 5500 block of Ellis avenue Friday and was arrested for trespassing, when police recognized him from the earlier beating. He was charged Sunday with felony battery to a senior citizen and is being held on $1.5 million bail.
