To the University Community,
We are dismayed by the decision not to approve Chamberlin House’s 2014 banner for the Homecoming festivities. The banner was fun and irreverent; not indecent, unkind, or offensive. We wish to express our appreciation for the good-humored intelligence embedded in the imagery, and our hope that visual culture on campus will be allowed the full breadth of uncensored expression accorded other kinds of intellectual activity that we all value so highly.
