Elena is a second-year in the College majoring in history. This is her first year writing as a Viewpoints columnist and she is excited to publish columns on a wide range of topics, from the environment to gender and more. She hopes her columns compel fellow UChicago students to think about key issues on campus and in the Hyde Park area, especially as they pertain to our relationship with the world outside UChicago. Outside of The Maroon, Elena is involved in the Phoenix Sustainability Initiative and the Green Fund. She also loves baking pies (and ebelskivers) and hiking.
