UAA honors Neuner, Ostroske
Third-year women’s soccer forward Renee Neuner and fourth-year men’s soccer defender Pete Ostroske were named the UAA Athletes of the Week Tuesday.
Neuner earned the title for the second time this year and the fifth time in her career after two stellar offensive performances last week. She scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory over Illinois Wesleyan last week, and added two goals in the 11th-ranked Maroons’ 3-1 win over Concordia (MN) on Saturday.
Ostroske earned his first-career honors for his defensive work. He led the 11th-ranked men’s defense to a double-overtime scoreless draw against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh last Saturday. Ostroske and the defense allowed only two shots on goal and five shots total in the winning effort.
