In the Friday October 28 article, “Mandatory Waiting Periods Are Necessary,” Laura Hamilton’s position was misrepresented by the headline. Hamilton was taking the position that a recent report, which demonstrated that mandatory waiting periods reduced female suicide rates, could have a disastrous effect if its findings were used by conservatives in the abortion debate. The Maroon regrets and apologizes for the error.
