Crime Report 4-12-2005

A robbery occurred at 10 p.m. on April 8 at 4800 South Kimbark Avenue. While a woman was walking through an alley connected to her residence, a man approached her, displayed a handgun, and demanded her money. She surrendered her purse and the offenders fled west on 48th Street.

Another robbery occurred at 4900 South Dorchester Avenue on April 9 at 9:56 p.m. While two men were walking down the street, three men approached them and demanded their watches and money. The victims then ran in different directions. One of the offenders caught one of the victims, stealing his jacket and watch. Upon being called soon after, police toured the area and found the offenders. At that point the officers took two of the three offenders into custody. The third offender remains at large.
