Crime Report: September 30, 2005

A man was robbed while walking on South University Avenue between 51st and 52nd streets at 10:45 p.m. on Friday, September 23. The offender demanded the victim’s money at gunpoint. After taking the cash, the he was seen running south on University.

A second man was robbed on the same day at 11:10 p.m. while walking north on the 5600 block of South Blackstone Avenue. The offender approached from the rear, took out a handgun, and demanded that the victim turn over his wallet and cell phone. The victim surrendered his property and the offender fled on foot.

A man and woman were headed south on the 5400 block of South Harper Avenue at 10:09 p.m. on Monday, September 26, when a man with a handgun approached them. The offender took the man’s wallet and was seen running north on Harper Avenue.

A woman was walking between 55th and 56th streets on South Everett Avenue on Wednesday, September 28, at 8:15 p.m., when a man got out of a car and pointed to his pocket, implying that he was armed. He demanded that she turn over her purse, and after seizing it, fled west on 56th Street. The car is thought to be an older two-door model, in white or silver.
