In the February 14 issue of the Maroon, the article “Students Rally for Claypool,” incorrectly stated that Forrest Claypool began his political career as the head of the Chicago Parks Department in 1994. Claypool began his political career in the 1980’s as the deputy state treasurer and a deputy commissioner on the Cook County Board of Tax Appeals.
In the February 14 issue of the Maroon, the article “Journalist Discusses Hamas Win” should have identified the PLO as the Palestine Liberation Organization.
In the February 14 issue of the Maroon, the Viewpoints column “Don’t Take Our Media’s Freedom Lightly,” should have stated that four members of the editorial staff of The New York Press resigned.
