Conservative blogger Steve Dillard over at Southern Appeal observes that the issue of Darfur is uniting strange bedfellows. It even got Mr. Dillard to agree with George Clooney, something I’m sure he doesn’t do that often.I would certainly agree, and hope, that this is an issue with the potential to bring the American will together. It will be interesting to see if any aspiring presidential contenders put this to use, both making it their own issue, and using it to attack the Bush legacy (our current president has done far too little to address this genocide). Of course, we should all hope that Darfur is a case study, not a current events issue, when the ’08 election rolls around.
