On Sunday, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) Marine Unit recovered the body of what police said appeared to be an adult male from Lake Michigan near the 5400 block of S. South Shore Drive.
The CPD Office of News Affairs said that the Marine Unit got a call at around 10:30 a.m. concerning a possible body in the lake. “Identity is unknown at this time, and the investigation is ongoing by Area Central Detectives,” the Office of News Affairs said.
CPD spokesperson Officer Jose Estrada told DNAinfo Chicago that the body wasn’t immediately identifiable because it had been in the lake “for some time.”
