Students reflect on annual winter tradition of Kuvia

Hundreds of students woke up at 5 a.m. every morning last week to participate in the annual festival.

The word Kuvia is a combination of the Inuit word Kuviasungnerk, meaning “pursuit of happiness,” and the Japanese word Kangeiko, meaning “mid-winter training.”
