Who We Are

Founded in 1892, the Chicago Maroon is the independent student newspaper of the University of Chicago. The organization’s flagship broadsheet is distributed every two weeks during autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the academic year. Additionally, the Maroon maintains chicagomaroon.com throughout the year.

Hustling

“Hustling,” our term for recruitment, takes place every quarter. Fall 2025 Hustling dates are September 30 and October 3rd. Hustling sessions will take place at 5 p.m. in our office in the basement of Ida Noyes, or meet one of our editors in the middle of the the quad at 4:45 p.m. and they will walk you over to our office.
