Two men were approached by an armed offender on November 20 at 5:22 p.m. while walking on the 5300 block of South Maryland Avenue. The offender displayed a handgun and demanded money from the two men, but they responded that they had none. The offender then walked to a nearby parked car, where someone was waiting inside, and the two drove off. The offender was described as a black man, 20-30 years old, five feet 10 inches tall, 130 pounds, of slim build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a gray hat, and a black leather jacket. The driver was a male and the car was a four door red vehicle.
An 83-year-old man walking alone at 6:25 p.m. on November 20 was confronted by two male offenders on the 1300 block of East 62nd Street. The offenders displayed a handgun and demanded his money. The man handed over $7 in cash to the offenders, who then ran northbound through an alley. The armed offender was described as a black man, age 25, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 160 pounds, of slim build, with a dark complexion, wearing a black coat, black pants, and a white hat. The second offender was described as a black man, age 26, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 165 pounds, of medium build, with a dark complexion, wearing a black cap, a dark jacket, and dark pants.
A woman returned to her apartment in the 700 block of East 61st Street at 7:15 p.m. on November 20 to find someone had forced the rear door and broken into the apartment. A 27 inch television, a DVD player, a DVD collection, a Sony Playstation, an AT&T cable box, a radio system, a Sprint telephone, and a cordless telephone were stolen. Police are currently investigating the burglary.
