Who We Are

Founded in 1892, the Chicago Maroon is the independent student newspaper of the University of Chicago. The organization’s flagship publication is the broadsheet distributed every two weeks during autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the academic year. Additionally, the Chicago Maroon maintains chicagomaroon.com throughout the year.

Hustling

“Hustling,” our term for recruitment, happens every quarter.

General Information Sessions will all be held in the Maroon office, located in the basement of Ida Noyes Hall (1212 E. 59th Street).

  • Thursday, September 26 (O-Week) at 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 2 (Week 1) at 6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 8 (Week 2) and 6:30 p.m.

You can also stop by at SARF (Student Activities and Resources Fair), which will be held from 3 to 5:20 p.m. on the main quad on Friday, October 4 (Week 1).

If you’re interested in joining our Business Section, you can attend an information session on Wednesday, October 9 at  7 p.m. in Harper 150.
