All members of the University community are invited—free of charge—to enjoy blues and gobble food at the 17th annual Blues n’ Ribs Festival, sponsored by the Council on University Programming. The event will be held in Ida Noyes Hall on Friday from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Willie Kent and the Gents, featuring Patricia Scott and Charlie Love, will provide music for the evening. Both Chicago-based bands frequent Kingston Mines and Blues Chicago, according to Stella Lee, the event chair.
The free menu will please both the carnivorous and vegetarian crowds, with barbecue ribs, fried chicken, chips, corn muffins, vegetarian samosas, hummus, Jerusalem salad (a dish with cucumbers and tomatoes), pita, and falafel.
Beer will be available for anyone 21 or over. Office of the Reynolds Club and Student Activities staff will be checking students’ IDs
