Rahul Murthy is a graduate student at UChicago studying applied data science. Born and raised in Houston, he grew up closely following the city’s professional sports teams, learning early how to manage disappointment. He writes about sports with a focus on the intersection of athletics, business, and public policy, covering topics ranging from professional franchises and stadium politics to the broader cultural role of sports in the city. Outside of the Maroon, Rahul works full-time in finance and enjoys following Chicago and New York sports culture, long-distance running, and traveling to different countries.
