The dean of the College said in an event hosted by the Chicago Forum for Free Inquiry and Expression that residence hall guest policies may be loosened by the end of autumn quarter.

In a speech at the event, Dean of the College Melina Hale called parts of a letter criticizing federal intervention in higher education “striking and problematic,” saying that the University could not sign it in light of its “institutional identity.”
