Students using RideSmart by Via will no longer be able to increase their chances of receiving a free Lyft by maxing out the number of riders on a booking, the University announced in an email on Thursday.
The new Via program will allow students to request unlimited free rides in shared vans at night but has faced complaints about long wait times at other universities.
Undergraduate Student Government (USG) representatives have been in conversation with University officials regarding the proposed program, which would give the University increased oversight and may offer unlimited rides to all students.
