News Brief

Kim Rorschach, the Dana Feitler director of the Smart Museum of Art, will leave at the end of June to become the director of Duke University’s new art museum.

Rorschach has been at the Smart for 10 years, and staff members say her work has improved the museum, making it easoer to attract strong candidates to replace her.

The search process for Rorschach’s replacement is expected to take up to a year, and the University is expected to name an acting director in the immediate future.

“I personally love working with Kim, and she’s done amazing things for this place—but at the same time, she’s leaving the museum in really, really good shape,” wrote Jacqueline Terrassa, Smart’s education director, in an e-mail to Smart Museum Activities Committee leaders.
