Crime Report

A man was robbed while walking in an alley on the 4800 block of South Drexel at 11 p.m. on November 9. He saw a man who was counting money approach him, pull out a handgun, and request money. The victim gave him $100 and a cellular phone. The offender took the money but threw down the cellular phone and ran north through the alley. The offender was described as a black man, 25- to 27- years-old, 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 120 pounds.

A woman was taking money to the bank from her business on 53rd Street on November 9 at 10 a.m. when a man approached her and grabbed her. He put a hard object into her side and said, “Walk this way. If you scream, I’ll shoot you.” He forced her to a parking lot on the 5200 block of South Blackstone Avenue, struck her with his fist, took the money from her jacket, and fled west on 52nd Street. He was described as a black man, 6 feet 1 inch tall, of heavy build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
