Crime Report 11-9-04

An attempted robbery occurred on Saturday, November 6, at 2:50 p.m., near 5400 South Dorchester Avenue. Two people approached and grabbed a woman by the back of her coat while she walked down the street. They then demanded her wallet. A struggle ensued. She eventually broke free and went to a payphone, where she called the police. The offenders took nothing.

At 3:05 p.m. on November 6, an attempted robbery occurred near 5400 South Kimbark Avenue. While walking down the street, a man was grabbed by the shoulder by two offenders. They took his wallet. The victim then broke free and called the police, who arrived at the scene quickly and apprehended the two men.

A strong-arm robbery occurred at 5200 South Kimbark Avenue on November 6 at 4:20 p.m. A man approached a woman walking down the street, grabbed her purse, and pushed her to the ground. The man then took her possessions, got into a nearby vehicle, and fled. The woman was able to obtain the license plate number.
