Sam Munson, neocon alumnus extraordinaire and former editor of Euphony, just got his manuscript off the auction block. “November Criminals” is its name; its game is writing from the perspective of a high school senior answering the essay portion of his application to the University of Chicago. The topic in question is pretty tame: “What are your best and worst qualities?”
I’m planning to fictionalize my collegiate experiences when I get out of here too; I think our school translates particularly well to the horror movie format. I’m not being cute here—I actually wrote my admissions essay from the perspective of a zombie on the prowl for brains. (Parents, send your kids to Northwestern.)
Anyhow, congratulations Sam. We’re sure you’ll make it all the way to the top of Princeton Review’s summer reading list.
