Woodlawn Resident Killed in Drive-by Shooting

Thornton was a Kenwood Academy High School alumĀ and lived in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

A Woodlawn resident was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting this past Sunday. 

Thirty-year-old Ryan Thornton was inside a car on East Garfield Boulevard when another car pulled up alongside him, and someone inside fired shots at Thornton. 

Thornton was hit multiple times on the left side of his body and was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

Thornton was a Kenwood Academy High School alum and lived in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.
