6–9 p.m. Where Fun Comes to Dance is UChicago’s annual campus-wide dance competition. All of the University’s dance RSOs will come together for a night of free food and performances. 7:30 p.m. UT/Taps and The Dean’s Men present the opening night of Lear, an adaptation of the Shakespeare tragedy set in the near future. 6–9 p.m. GlobeMed, PMSA, and the American Red Cross present the AIDS Memorial Quilt in conjunction with the NAMES Project Foundation. This quilt is the world’s largest piece of community folk art and it seeks to raise AIDS awareness and support HIV prevention by preserving images and stories from the AIDS pandemic. The event will feature refreshments and sections of the piece on display. McCormick Place, Reynolds Club, free.
6:30–9 p.m. Ricardo Gamboa, writer/director of Brujos, and writer Fatimah Asghar and director Sam Bailey of Brown Girls will be giving a screening of an episode from each series. A Q&A panel following the screening will discuss queerness in communities of color and media representation. Logan Center for the Arts, free with a capacity of 100 guests.

2:30 p.m. Join Chamber Music Organization in the panel “Feminist Analytics: Challenging the Classical Music Canon,” to discuss classical music through a feminist lens. Panelists will include Barbara Schubert, Marta Ptasynska, and other leaders who are seeking to recognize the role of female conductors, composers, and musicians in the canon. 8 p.m. Come see LV&V Circus’s Times End, a performance featuring many circus arts including tumbling, poi, silk, rope, and more. The adventurous story, inspired by Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and the troupe’s creativity is sure to astonish. 12–6 p.m. “What does it mean to have a body?” asks this workshop and performance event entitled The Soft Animal of Your Body. The afternoon will feature a clothing exchange, an open mic, and movement and dance workshops from a variety of RSOs. Bartlett quad, rain location Logan 801, free.
5–9 p.m. Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy the warm night air with salsa, mambo, bachata, and more styles this weekend on the Midway! The night will include a lesson, performances, and open dancing. Midway Plaisance Park, free.
6–9 p.m. The Organization of Black Students presents its annual cultural show. This year’s performance—My Beautiful Dark Twisted City—will feature comedy, spoken word, hip-hop, and other acts.
