A sprinkler pipe burst at the Polsky Center last Monday morning, damaging Polsky Exchange North and Harper Theater.
Harper Theater was notified of the burst between 8 and 9 a.m. on Monday. The theater sustained significant water damage, especially to its walls, but was completely operational by the next day.
In Polsky Exchange North, the Washington Park classroom and the network closet—a hub for all wiring connected to the local area network—were damaged. As a result, the internet in the building is still down. All business apart from mentorship meetings has been moved to Polsky Exchange South.
The Polsky Center declined to offer any information regarding the extent of the damage done to the center or what caused the burst, but said it will be completely up and running by January 19.
