Students Join Community Members in Prayer Vigil Against Displacement

The attendees called on the Obama Foundation to consider signing a community benefits agreement (CBA) to prevent gentrification and displacement of Woodlawn and South Shore residents.

The Southside Obama Library Community Benefits Agreement Coalition hosted a “prayer vigil against displacement” outside the McCormick Center on Tuesday, just hours before the Obama Foundation hosted a public meeting to discuss its plans for the future Presidential Center in Jackson Park.

The attendees called on the Obama Foundation to consider signing a community benefits agreement (CBA) to prevent gentrification and displacement of Woodlawn and South Shore residents.
