UT Weekend of Workshops
FXK Theater, 7:30 p.m., $6 advance/$8 door
UT’s quarterly show presents the works of nearly half a dozen student directors, including several original pieces. Thursday free performance, Friday through Sunday paid performances.

Boos and Ribs

Round out the Halloweek with ribs, mac and cheese, Insomnia cookies, and more, courtesy of the Council on University Programming (COUP). There will be performances by several campus a cappella groups, Chicago Swing Dance Society, and more. The winners of the costume party, from 8:00–8:30 p.m., will receive free tickets to the Snow Ball winter formal.
Frankenstein Student Night
Court Theatre, 6:30 p.m., $10 rush/$20 advance
Keep the spooky season going into November with the Court Theatre’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s masterpiece horror story. There will be free Jimmy John’s and an interactive behind-the-scenes event after the performance.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest Screening
Doc Films, 7 p.m., $7
Jack Nicholson stars as a criminal who fakes insanity and has been sent to a mental institution, where he disrupts the ward’s status quo in this iconic 1975 film. There will be additional screenings at 9:30 p.m. on Friday and at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

South Side Pie Challenge

A yearly tradition, the community bake-off raises money for Hyde Park/Kenwood Hunger Programs. Enjoy a fresh slice of pie and live music while helping a worthy cause!
Trek to the National Museum of Mexican Art
Departing from Center for Identity and Inclusion, 2:15-5:00 p.m., free
OLAS and OMSA are hosting this trek to see the exhibit ¡No se olvida! Remembering the Tlatelolco Massacre, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the massacre of more than 300 protesters in Mexico City’s Tlatelolco neighborhood. The trek will provide dinner and transportation. RSVP by November 1.
