Grounds of Being, the Divinity School’s popular basement coffee shop, plans to begin accepting Maroon Dollars in spring quarter.
Grounds of Being has been planning to accept Maroon Dollars since last year. As part of negotiations with the University over whether Grounds of Being should pay rent, the coffee shop agreed last January to accept Maroon Dollars.
Grounds of Being received the equipment to take Maroon Dollars over the summer, but implementation was delayed by logistical questions over how employees would register to use the system. William Underwood, the shop’s general manager, said he’s confident that the remaining issues will be sorted out by the start of the quarter.
