A burglary occurred between 8:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on January 6 in the 5400 block of South Everett Avenue. Police reported evidence of forced entry on the front door of the apartment and suspected the criminal used a pry tool. Residents said numerous items were missing, including jewelry and a laptop computer.
An attempted burglary occurred on January 6 at 1:18 a.m. in the 5400 block of South Ingleside Avenue. Residents reported hearing a “loud bang” from the front side of their apartment, according to police reports, and discovered a man trying to gain entry through the front door. The offender fled the scene and never gained entry. No property was reported stolen.
A burglary occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. on January 6 in the 5100 block of South Kimbark Avenue. Police reported numerous DVDs and jewelry stolen after forced entry into the residence.
A robbery occurred between 6:30 and 11:30 p.m. on January 7 in the 1000 block of East 54th Street. According to police reports, residents had left their apartment earlier that evening but did not lock their back door or windows. Upon returning home, the residents found the kitchen window and back door open and reported various items and electronics equipment missing.
An attempted burglary occurred between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the 5600 block of Dorchester Avenue. Police reported an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry through forcing open the rear window of an apartment. No property was stolen.
