Pravan Chakravarthy, Head Crossword Editor
Pravan Chakravarthy is a fourth-year in the College studying physics and linguistics. He is the head crossword editor, and formerly a deputy podcast editor, for The Maroon. Some notable contributions he has made in these roles include co-running the UChicago Crossword Puzzle Tournament (Autumn 2022-2024, planned Spring 2025), hosting the Maroon Weekly’s 100th episode (March 2023), and writing over 20 puzzles for The Maroon, including the puzzle for the Maroon–Daily Northwestern joint issue (June 2023). He started constructing crosswords in 2020, and has published work in the Los Angeles Times, the Universal Crossword, and the American Values Crossword Club. Off the grid (ha), he enjoys biking, making music, and reading.
Henry Josephson, Crossword Editor
Henry Josephson doesn’t have a crossword problem—he can stop whenever he wants. Indeed, to distract himself from crossword puzzles as he finishes his final year of undergrad, he TAs the AI for Public Policy course at Harris, tries to juggle too many side projects, and goes for long runs on the lakefront trail. He actually finished Infinite Jest, occasionally consults for the New York State senate, and loves solving problems. He’s trying to get a job in emerging technology policy research, believes that the B-level of the Reg—though imperfect—is an underrated study space, and would love to build a crossword puzzle with you.
