Crime Report: 4-11-2006

April 8, 4 a.m.-—An armed robbery occurred on the 4800 block of South Drexel Avenue. A 19-year-old man was reportedly walking when another man approached him and asked for the telephone number of a taxi company. When the victim looked down at his cell phone, the offender pulled a knife and demanded the victim’s money and jacket. The victim surrendered $10 and his Pele jacket. The offender then fled in an unknown direction.

The victim flagged down a passing 21st district Chicago Police Department car and reported the robbery.

The offender was described as a black man, age 23 to 26, 6-foot-3, with a short fade haircut. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and white gym shoes.
