President Don Randel tapped fourth-year graduate student Victor Muñiz-Fraticelli and third-year in the College Kirk Schmink as the 2005-2006 University Student Ombudsperson and the Associate Student Ombudsperson, respectively.
Though these two salaried, part-time positions are under the Office of the President, the Office of the Student Ombudsperson is student-run and separate from the University administration.
Having served as associate student ombudsperson, during the 2004-2005 school year, Muñiz-Fraticelli brings with him a year’s experience of responding to student complaints. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Cornell University and later a law degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. He is currently in his fourth year as a graduate student studying Political Science at the University.
Already an involved member of the student community, Schmink is currently the Assistant to the Director of Development at the Oriental Institute and General Manager of Ex Libris Coffee Shop.
