Having earned double-digit wins for the first time since 1998, volleyball (10-5) faces its toughest challenge yet at this weekend’s UAA Round Robin, the first of three this season. The Maroons play three games this weekend in Pittsburgh, including two against particularly tough opponents: top-ranked NYU (19-0) and 13th-ranked Emory (12-4). Their last opponent, 6-5 Brandeis, will also present a challenge.
Although Chicago is not expected to sweep this weekend, building off last week’s strong effort at home will be key.
“Our consistency and team rhythm was off last week, but the win was important four our record going into UAAs,” said third-year captain Tracie Kenyon, who as libero holds the school career record in digs. “This weekend will be very tough, but if we execute and play together, then we are hoping for an upset and an easy win over Brandeis.”
