Good news for my San Francisco 49ers, with the help of new offensive coordinator Norv Turner, Alex Smith was dominant yesterday. On Sportscenter Michael Irvin remarked that Smith’s performance against the potent Chicago Bears defense reminded him of Troy Aikman. That comparison is definitely a little premature, but given his performance last year, it is good to see anything from the 49ers number one draft pick.It has been a tough couple of years to root for the 49ers, but with Smith turning it on and rookie TE Vernon Davis looking very promising, a .500 season could be in order.
