Why did the US have to even open its mouth after the Guantanamo Bay suicides? Apparently a “top US official” tried to explain the suicides as a, “good PR move to draw attention.”I can’t really imagine a worse PR move by the US. Displays of callous indifference to human life like this that Gitmo exemplify to the world. It doesn’t even matter what the US policy actually is (although that does matter, it’s just a separate debate). I wonder how much of the anti-American sentiment in Europe is driven just by the fact that the present American administration doesn’t even care about how it is perceived in the rest of the world?
