I was reading the latest issue of the Maroon today (in which I have a column) and I noticed an ad for a Hyde Park restaurant.The ad included a couple of quotes from various reviews and then listed the sorts of events it can host like wedding celebrations, parties, and last was divorce celebrations.This initially struck me as a joke. Even if some people do go out and celebrate after getting a divorce the level of business can’t be enough to justify putting it into an ad, can it?I did a couple Google searches on divorce celebrations and most results were about Britney Spears’s behavior (and clothing choices) immediately after her divorce with K-Fed. Now, I can kind of see why someone would want to go celebrate after leaving K-Fed, but is this common? Is the term divorce celebration a popularly accepted term (Urban Dictionary has no definition as of today)?
