Last night the Blackhawks laid waste to the Phoenix Coyotes in front of thousands of men, women and children at the United Center. They used their foes’ skulls as goblets as they drank from the keg of glory. Ten minutes into the game, the ‘Hawks were on pace for an historic 30–0 victory, and they likely would have surpassed that had they not spent the remaining two-and-a-half periods operating out of the V-formation. Their wrath was swift and merciless.I mention this because the Coyotes’ goaltender (who saved 2 of 7 shots) was none other than the Russian Bear himself, Ilya Bryzgalov, and that gives me an excuse to post my all-time favorite athlete interview. And yes, that’s his real voice:
