I can’t remember a better year for fund raising at the U of C. It seemed like there were countless well publicized gifts given to the school and the University finished its $2 billion capital campaign.Still, the U of C finished 12th in private fund raising last year, gaining only $328.33 million compared to Stanford which finished number one with $832.35 million. That’s nearly three times the U of C, nearly a quarter of our entire endowment.I guess the U of C still has a lot of work to do if it wants to catch up to any of the big boys in terms of endowment size.
