Crime Report: February 8, 2008

February 6, 8:32 p.m.—University officers on the 6100 block of South Woodlawn Avenue observed two males who matched the descriptions given by victims of a number of robberies in the Woodlawn area over the last two weeks. After the officers approached the men, the suspects attempted to run but were detained by the police. The first individual, 16, was in possession of a handgun and was charged with unlawful possession of the weapon. The second individual, 17, was released without charges. Area-two detectives are following up with victims of recent robberies to see if victims can identify these individuals as the offenders in these robberies.
