The playlists of British MPs

The BBC had this entertaining story

The BBC had this entertaining story about the musical tastes of British MPs. Many of them were fans of Led Zeppelin and the Beatles:

According to Tory shadow immigration minister Damian Green, Led Zeppelin II is “the ultimate album for teenage boys – metal as art. No-one ever topped it. The opening riff is straightforward perfection”.Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik said: “Zeppelin made a new kind of music. They created a genre many have copied but no-one has equalled. And Whole Lotta Love is the greatest rock song ever.”Labour’s Alison Seabeck added: “Led Zeppelin simply blew me away.”However, for Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell it was The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Not too shabby, especially considering the musical tastes of many American politicians.
