April 12, 7:30 p.m.—A male victim reported that after cashing a check at a currency exchange on the 1500 block of East 53rd Street, he was approached by a male offender. “Give me the money. If you don’t, I will shoot you,” the offender said, according to the victim. The victim did not see a weapon, but gave the offender his cell phone and $420 in cash. The offender fled in an unknown direction. He is described as male, black, 20 years old, 5 feet 9 inches, and of medium build.
