The Chi-Town Daily News tried to write a story about the endowments of universities in Chicago. Columbia talked. Loyola talked. DePaul would have talked if it had numbers. But all the U of C did was send forth spokesman Bill Harms with a snippy comment:
“We don’t discuss the endowment, what we do with it or how we invest,” Harms says.
The endowment is down $1.5 billion for the year, according to the article. Good thing the new CIO specializes in things that go up….
