Max Boot says lets send them in. I’ve always been a proponent of the use of mercenaries for international conflicts, especially humanitarian ones. They are the best mechanism for dealing with them because they overcome the fact that no liberal democracy is going to commit the troop levels necessary to deal with any humanitarian crisis. On the other hand, liberal democracies loovveee throwing money at problems, especially problems that let them claim moral superiority.
