Poetry of Resistance in Russia Today  

Franke Institute for the Humanities, Room S-102, 5 p.m., free

The Center for East European and Russian/Eurasian Studies hosts a poetry reading and discussion by poets/activists Kirill Medvedev and Pavel Arseniev. 

 

Thursday [12/6] 

Study at the Rock! 

Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., free

Spend some time studying at the Rockefeller this Thursday, which is offering its pews, balconies and cushions to students preparing for finals week. 

 

WHPK Electronic Format Launch Party  

The Promontory, 8–11 p.m., $10 

South Side radio station WHPK is hosting a launch party for its new electronic format. Electronic producer IGLOOGHOST will be headlining with music from his latest EPs Steel Mogu and Clear Tamei.   

 

Study at the Smart 

Smart Museum of Art, 9 p.m.–12 a.m., free

Prepare for your finals among a rich variety of art at the Smart Museum, which will be providing free pizza, coffee, Wi-Fi, and power outlets, as well as endless inspiration.  

 
Study at the Logan Center 

Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, 9 p.m.–12 a.m., free

Whether you’re looking for silent spots to study or a break from the stress of finals, come to the Logan Center, which will be providing free food and coffee throughout its nine floors.  
 

Friday [12/7] 

MODA Magazine Launch 

Regenstein 402, 1:30–3:30 p.m., free

Sip on hot chocolate while thumbing through the Winter 2018 edition of the MODA magazine.  

 

Poetry Performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art 

International House Assembly Hall, 5:45 p.m., Students $10 

I-House graduate intern Venezah St. Louis will lead a trip to the MCA to watch Claudia Rankine and Will Rawls’s What Remains, which begins at 7 p.m.  

 

Grossman Ensemble with Ben Bolter, Conductor 

Logan Center Performance Hall, 7:30 p.m., free with UCID

Codirector of Northwestern University’s Contemporary Music Ensemble Ben Bolter conducts the debut performance of the Grossman Ensemble.
